July 8th 2009

This class is flying by! Between today and yesterday we have been emerged into the world of Web 2.0. Some of the things we learned about were blogs, social networks, rss feeds, delicious, and book organizing sites such as LibraryThing. All of these things can be feasibly used in my future library media center and would be so exciting for both myself and the students. I really like the idea of using LibraryThing to advertise new books to students, teachers and parents...what great PR! Delicious is also a very handy tool that I will definately use in my professional career. All in all, the class is running smoothly and I can't wait to try all of these new tools and ideas in my LMC!

  1. LibraryThing is great to advertise new books, especially if you get parents to subscribe or even the children (if they have email) so they can see you got a new book in a series like the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series by Jeff Kinney, which is so popular among children now. (I love that series!) -Erin
